Death approaches. Covered in black, this character says nothing but points Scrooge in the direction of his future if he doesn't change. This frightening character takes Scrooge to see the death of man slowly revealing it is his own. The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come is death personified. It shows us that our actions have consequences.

PURPOSE
The the ghost is death personified. Scrooge fears this ghost more than any others as he knows that with death, his chance at redemption is over. It shows us that we are responsible for our actions and our actions will have consequences.
The prolepsis allows us to see the consequences of Scrooge's actions and perhaps reflect on our own futures in comparison.
